Pastor’s Corner – Sunday, June 28
I could use some rest. How about you?
Do you remember that spiritual practice is an important way to rest?
All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. (Acts 2:44-47)
Spiritual practice is a way of life as God intended. Common spiritual practices include worship, prayer, movement, study, service, and a daily dose of peace and quiet. Throughout the millennia and across traditions, this way of life has proven to bring balance and wellbeing to those who are faithful in their practice.
What activities help you focus on the good life God intends? Prioritize these essential, spiritual activities and note how you are feeling and how you are interacting with others as a result. Common results are meaning, purpose, renewal, and joy.
Will you join me in prioritizing the spiritual life? It is a tried-and-true path to rest, as well as a purposeful activity.
Yours in Christ,
Marc
