Good Words from the Word - Part 1

We can all use some encouragement. Why not open our hearts and minds to the One we call the Word, the embodiment of Divine wisdom and life?

From start to finish Jesus offered a word of love. He began by embracing his beloved status from God (Matthew 3:17). Along the way he demonstrated love by offering healing and restoration to the suffering (Mark 6:53-56). He taught love as the most important Divine command (Luke 10:25-28). When his death was approaching he announced that his disciples were no longer servants but friends (John 15:15). And as he was crucified he extended the love of forgiveness to his executioners (Luke 23:34).

Could it be any clearer? You are loved. It is the graceful love that is unconditional. It is the liberating love of forgiveness that prompts a spirit of being forgiving. It is the hopeful love that builds bridges of understanding. It is the purposeful love that guides each step and redeems every loss. It is the eternal love of One who will never let you go.

The Word is for you. The Word enfolds you in love. Take heart and be encouraged.
