Lessons from Loss

Mourning my son’s death has taught me that there is not one right way to grieve. Losses come in various shapes and sizes. We are different in how we process experiences and how we express emotions. Our backgrounds and relationships vary, and much of our ever-changing situations fall outside of our control. These and other factors influence how we grieve.

The key is to keep moving toward a place of acceptance, to work toward the healing you and the others near you need. A constant in this process is a commitment to thoughts, words, and actions that open you to healing. Be quick to seek help along this difficult path. You are not alone. Together we can make it.

Remember, Jesus is reaching out with this loving invitation: Come to me, all you that are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

Yours in Christ,

Marc
